Paul Cassidy – Chair

Paul is taking early retirement in September 2022 and has lived in Clackmannanshire for the past 22 years. He is extremely excited about the opportunity that Town Break presents and is very much looking forward to making a positive contribution.

His career background has been in senior management roles within retail. He brings a wealth of experience in project management, developing strategies and cultural change to name but a few.

Paul has had a decade of first hand experience of those living with dementia having been a carer for his own Mother In Law. He believes this experience has been invaluable to him personally and has given him a greater understanding from the perspective of both a carer and those who live with dementia too.

Alasdair Tollemache

Alasdair has lived in the Stirling area for nearly 40 years, both in rural and urban communities. He has worked in both the public and third sectors, these jobs have included water treatment, waste disposal and recycling, setting up and running a bicycle reuse project (Recyke-a-bike) and recently leading a team supporting charities. Alasdair was retired before being elected a Councillor on Stirling Council in 2017. Alasdair is the Fairtrade councillor for Stirling Council.

David Carson

David is a chartered accountant and is now semi-retired, having worked both in the private sector and latterly in NHS Scotland for 21 years. He has experience of health economics, having served on the Scottish Medicines Consortium, as well as specialised knowledge of charity accounting and governance.

Margaret Silver

Margaret joined Town Break as a Trustee in October 2021. She has worked in a variety of roles within education and training. Her roles have included Development Manager, Operations Director and Consultant Trainer/ Mentor. Margaret is a familiar face around Town Break and is a previous full-time carer for her husband who lived with Alzheimer’s. She is passionate about carer support and over the years Town Break’s services have provided much-needed support to both herself and her husband. She can’t wait to contribute to the future success and growth of Town Break.

Leigh Dodds

Leigh joined the Board in May 2018. She has nine years’ experience in working with volunteers and service delivery in a range of roles in local government and public sectors.

Juli Oswald

Juli joined Town Break as a Trustee in 2019. She has worked as part of the Additional Support Needs team working for Stirling Council. More recently she has cared for a family member with dementia. She has benefited hugely from the services Town Break have provided over the last few years and is very much looking forward to contributing to the continuing success of Town Break.
